CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSION PROPOSALS 

IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking 2012 IEEE CCNC 2012 Las Vegas, Nevada, 7-10 January 2012 http://www.ieee-ccnc.org/ 

IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference, sponsored by IEEE Communications Society, is a major annual international conference organized with the objective of bringing together researchers, developers, and practitioners from academia and industry working in all areas of consumer communications and networking.

Special Sessions will be an important part of the program of IEEE CCNC 2012.

The organizer(s) of the special session manage the review process in EDAS.

All special session papers are reviewed by at least 3 reviewers, and the review process should be consistent with the standards of the technical program.  Accepted papers are presented as part of the technical track and published in the conference proceedings including IEEE Xplore. 

We invite proposals for special sessions from experienced researchers on topics that are new or emerging areas within consumer networking and communications.

The proposal should include: 1) title, 2) 1 or 2 paragraph description, 3) list of topics,

4) list of organizers, affiliation and contact information, 5) brief summary of the organizer's background in this research area.

 Example topics from previous years include:

- virtualization for CE
- location-based services
- scalable application layer multicast
- vehicular networks
- smart grids: emerging services and networks
- IPTV and multimedia CDN
- green communications
- social networking applications

Proposals will be evaluated on the basis of their relevance, timeliness, interest, and significance of the topic, as well as the potential quality of papers in the proposed session and their fit within the program as a whole. Special session organizers will be responsible for managing the review of the papers submitted to their proposed special sessions.

IMPORTANT DATES
Early submission is encouraged, as decisions will be made on a rolling basis.

Special Session Proposal submission deadline:  May 31 ,2011
Acceptance notification:   June 7, 2011
