The 3rd IEEE Consumer Communications and Network Conference
                                                                    Research Student Workshop
in conjunction with IEEE CCNC 2012

                                                                              http://rsw.cs.tut.fi/
                                                           Submission Deadline: September 19, 2011

The Consumer Communications and Network Conference (CCNC) Research Student Workshop attracts submissions and participants from the full range of CCNC interests. It is organized by IEEE members who are themselves actively engaged in research and study. The venue offers a possibility for researchers, and especially research students, to present and discuss part of the whole of their research topic in an inspiring atmosphere with their peers and experts from industry and academia. The workshop is held in conjunction with the IEEE Communications Society's flagship CCNC 2011 conference.

Topics of Interest
Participants have the opportunity to present their research topic, progress so far, structure of future work and the state of hypothesis development and testing. This makes the workshop particularly suitable for post-graduate students as a doctoral consortium, although it is open to all submissions following a structured study approach. Topics of interest mirror those of the CCNC 2010 conference including, but not limited to:

●     Consumer networks (wide area, local, SOHO and home networks)
●     Enabling technologies (platforms, middleware, open source, interoperability & tech reuse)
●     Pervasive applications and services (e.g. multi-device affective & ubiquitous computing)
●     Overlay networks and federated systems (e.g. P2P, IM, application layer multicast)
●     Communications for distributed computing (e.g. cloud storage, GRID)
●     Security and trust in communications
●     Consumer communications behavior and modeling
●     Network modeling and simulation, and the impact of architecture and users
●     Performance evaluation (of communications systems and applications)

Papers are selected based not only on their novel contribution, but also the clarity and quality of research topic outline and approach discussion. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the IEEE CCNC 2012 Conference Proceedings and in IEEE Xplore® providing authors fulfill the requirements described on the workshop webpage http://rsw.cs.tut.fi/publish.html

Submission
Submissions shall be in the form of a 3 page extended abstract. The format of submissions is three pages in IEEE double column style (US letter 8.5" x 11"). Submissions must adhere to the IEEE conference proceedings template. Submissions are made using EDAS.

Templates are available online:
